8620 / E8620 / 86L20 Chromium-Nickel-Molybdenum Alloy Steel

Description

AISI 8620 is a hardenable chromium, molybdenum, nickel low alloy steel often used for carburizing to develop a case-hardened part. This case-hardening will result in good wear characteristics.
"Triple Alloys", The nickel imparts good toughness and ductility, and the chromium and molybdenum contribute increased hardness penetration and wear.

Available in Aircraft Quality and Bearing Quality

Applications

In the carburized condition this alloy is used for gears, ring gears, shafts, pinions, spline shaft, piston pins, oil pumps, piston rods and liners, cams, oil tool slips, jigs, gauges, plastic molds, jaws and crankshafts
